Sales of the iPhone 5 has Surpassed Samsung Galaxy S3

Sales of the iPhone 5 has surpassed Samsung Galaxy S3 in the fourth quarter of 2012, according to a report issued by research firm Strategy Analytics said on Wednesday.

A rich touch screen, wide distribution, and operator subsidies has boosted sales of the iPhone 5 reaching the world's best, according to Strategy Analytics.

Apple is estimated to have sent 27.4 million iPhone 5 units worldwide in the fourth quarter 2012, or dominate with a share of about 13 per cent of the total global smartphone shipments.

Complementing the success of the iPhone 5, iPhone 4S deliveries in the same period also penetrate 17.4 million units, equivalent to 8 per cent share.

While the Galaxy S3 only in third place, with Samsung carrying has sent 15.4 million units worldwide, or representing 7 percent of the total global smart phone shipments.

Samsung Galaxy S3 has long proved popular with consumers and operators in North America, Europe, and Asia.

However global demand has peaked and Galaxy S3 rumored Samsung Galaxy S4 upgrade will introduce in the coming weeks to retake market from Apple's iPhone.

Strategic Analytics noted that total shipments of Samsung Galaxy S3 does not include Mini S3, S2 and Galaxy S, while the calculation does not include the iPhone 4S iPhone 4
